Watercolour - Pendulum

Lyric:- 'Feed the fire, break your vision, throw your fists up, come on with me' - Thompson

Song Choice:- I became aware of the Aussie Drum and Bass Group last year (cheers Nathan Williams for the tip-off) and instantly loved their deep bass and heavy synth-lead sound. My neighbour Pauline must love 'em as my 200w Sub gets a full work-out every time I play them.

Listen for yourself and see if you get them too...I was listening to this track on my iPod as I bumped into one of my friends on their way to the gym this evening. We'll call him 'Nick' but he knows who he is...

Anyway, he didn't look too full of beans and with a mega-long race fast approaching this month that he told me he felt totally FLAT about the prospect of just surviving the experience rather than performing at his best.

IN HIS CASE, I RECKON THIS RACE FOR HIM IS NUTS...I believe he does too as that's what he disclosed to me. Now whether he takes heed of me, himself or any of your comments, then I'll be surprised as it's hard not to race when one's paid the entry and made a public declaration that you are undertaking your next ULTRA feat.

I've prescribed him a 'back-to-basics-lets-start-running-again-from-the-beginning-when-I-used-to-enjoy-it-get-out-of-jail-free-card' so I wonder if my offer will be more tempting than a disappointing race performance.

I do but what would you do if you were Nick OR you are the real NICK yourself?

I feel really uptight about this one as he could be a great runner..'breaking his vision' would make a massive difference I know'...

More from Cryptic Coleman tomorrow...

Runaway - Jamiroquai

Lyric:- Can you feel it? - Kay, Harris & Johnson

Song Choice:- Hear it here and see what you've been missing all these years if JK passed you by. I LOVE the groove of this song and it always lifts my mood and gets my feet going. Shame he's disappeared as some of his work is simply amazing...

Anyway, my feet have been going ten-to-the-dozen for the past two days without JK's help and I've clocked up well over 50 miles with two great Marathon des Sables 2015 Runners. It's taken me to 91 miles banked this week and a hefty 12224Kcals lopped off my waistline.

My legs don't feel too distressed and I'm going to lift some weights tomorrow as well as catch up on some missed sleep during the Italian Grand Prix...

Life's good eh? Can you feel it too?

Timewave - New Beginnings

Track Choice:- One of my favourite pieces of music and my version of a well deserved end of week big glass of wine. Listen here and just let all your weeks woes simply ease away...

And boy I think I've deserved it and there's yet another 26.2 miles to crack in tomorrow when hopefully there will be less of a Police state in down-town Caerdydd to negotiate.

Actually it was all over by 11am and the main part of the city was wonderfully silent unlike the Docks which had a massive warships, squadrons of helicopters buzzing around and most of the British Police-force on duty in light blue caps mingling with the General Public in a strangle kind of PR exercise.

However bonkers it looked no doubt it will all be worth it...

Hopefully all my uplifted training will be too and what with my uplifted speed training and my weight-loss campaign in full flow, who knows where it will all lead.

Probably to a good sleep in front of the Grand Prix on Sunday...Nothing's Better eh?

More tomorrow...

Breathe - The Pink Floyd

Lyric:- 'Breathe, breathe in the air' - Gilmour, Waters & Wright

Track Choice:- The hairs on my neck always stand up when I hear this amazing Floyd song. Off their Dark Side album, it's them at their depressing and monumental best :-)

Anyway, as for a change, I ran a fast 5 miler to get me out of my current Long Slow Distance frame of running and really enjoyed the whole 40 minute experience.

It's some time since I put my pedal to the metal and I really zipped along in the last 3 miles hitting sub 7 minute miles on a couple of occasions. Oh yes, there's life in the old dog yet!

So, here goes...I'm really going to have a go at smashing my training during September! Learning to Breathe and Breathe in the Air and go for it.

Have I lost my mind or found salvation?

Short and Sweet - David Gilmour

Lyric:- 'Seeking to justify the part you play' - Gilmour

Song Choice:- I bought this album in 1978 when it first came out and played it to death. We used to play in on the car cassette player in my Dad's Marina. Gilmour's haunting lyrics and brilliant playing made for some great air guitar back then for a young 16 year old Master Coleman. It was heady stuff!!!

The lyrics spoke volumes for me today as I spoke with SO many clients about their lives and their work. The common theme was about finding ones worth, not in the monetary sense (as money eventually doesn't push everyone's buttons), but trying to find the ones value in this big bad world of ours. If you find that, you find tranquillity...it's a BIG journey.

I try my hardest to get my clients to see that journey, see what they're really capable of and take them a whole new level of living the dream.

It works too... Even I'm really trying to live the dream right now and I'm working hard to get in shape for The Druid Challenge in November by getting a good couple of months under my belt. Sometimes it takes time and the time has to be right to jump off the cliff and go for that dream.

I'm still dreaming...are you?

How 'Short and Sweet' was that?...

3 Doors Down - Love me when I'm gone

Lyric:- 'Somewhere in this darkness' - Roberts, Harrell, Henderson, Ochs, Arnold & Mathers

Track Choice:- I heard this track during a TV show this evening and instantly loved it. It was just one of those occasions where the song fitted the show and pressed all my 'music love' buttons at once. Until this evening I hadn't heard of this band but what a great surprise. Have a listen yourself and see if you get your 'music love buttons' pressed too.

Do you see what I mean or do you think it sucks? When I go to an art gallery I always ask one of the guides to tell me which one painting they'd would take home with them and why as I'm interested in their opinion. It's fascinating that they ALWAYS jump at the chance of telling me their choice.

People always ask me why I run and I haven't got a clearly defined answer apart from that I love it and have done from my very first jog some 20 years ago.

I wonder if I'll love the 3 Doors Down track in 20 years?

Patience - Take That

Lyric:- 'Just try and have a little patience yeah' - Barlow, Owen, Donald, Orange & Shanks

Song Choice:- A bit of a sing-a-long-an-ultra track for me but the quality of the Barlow singing and how well the lyrics are wrapped around the music is exceptionally well done. I do love a bit of Take That!

The word 'PATIENCE' is the hook to this platinum seller and the word that I speak most to my clients as some want to go from Zero-to-Hero in just a few short weeks.

Things don't just magically change. It wouldn't be a good thing anyway as the process of change from being Person A to Person B takes T, the magical ingredient TIME.

The three month period that I plan ahead with my clients does make huge changes BUT there's a MASSIVE benefit if there's a 12-24 month bigger picture. Having that vision and overview makes the NOW much more relevant.

It makes for better results and much higher achievements and satisfaction as there's nothing worse than being in the 'Running Rut' of same races and slower results.

Have you got a plan?
