Song Choice:- On 'Weigh-in-Tuesday' it seems only right to choose a track that reflects what's really necessary to make things happen for anyone chasing their dream - namely 'One Vision'. This Queen track released all the way back in 1985 has Freddie at his 'Hammer to Fall' best IMO and I love this live performance at Wembley Stadium on July 12th 1986.

Yikes, 31 years on and how about giving it some thought today about what your 'One Vision' is. The one that's driving you on? You know the must 'Do or Die thing' that's occupying your every waking moment.

Talking to Dan Mullin this morning, I know exactly what his is and where he's going. The funny thing is after losing a whopping 31kgs (68lbs) of excess body-weight since March 1st, he is still 'overweight' at 100.1kgs and is now only really starting his journey of fitness and ULTRAmarathon glory he's set his heart on. Hopefully the 'Energy-Vampires' that are already saying 'Enough is enough' will change their tune as he heads onto a more healthy 85kgs and claims his 'One Vision' and hail him, like me as a 'Winner'.

The Guy's a Superstar and if you are struggling doing that last 15 minutes on the treadmill or salivating over a 'Finger of Fudge' in a queue. Take heed from our Dan as neither of them are on his agenda.

As there's only one way to become a winner at the 'Game of Life'...

Song Choice:- I'm always saying to folk that 'These are the best days of our lives'. It's TRUE. It's just that we don't realise it right now. Take-a-look at the 'Lump in the throat’ Queen video that accompanies this track if you need to see where I’m coming from. It’s super sad… It was the last video to feature frontman Freddie Mercury as he was in the final stages of his battle with AIDS filmed on 30th May 1991, just six months before he died on 24th November 1991 - nearly 26 years ago... His last words to camera were ‘I still love you’ and I’m sure he did.

Since then, so much has happened – We’ve all lived a lot of ‘Life’ that I’m sure Freddie would also have lived to the full, with its roundabout ‘Ups and Downs’, ‘Successes and Failures’.

You see, we never thought about getting old when we were young – The ‘DFS Sofa buy-now-pay-later' mentality hadn’t been invented and I for one thought that my battery life was endless rather than slowly ebbing away at 1% annually.

And ‘Yes’ it is a shame we can’t wind our clocks back to make amends or live life’s highs all over again but I believe it’s our duty now to make the most of what we’ve got. Not of what’s left as none of us know how long that particular piece of string is.

We’ve just got to do, what we do – BETTER… as Freddie says, ‘Cos these are the days of our lives’…

Champion Stuff

Song Choice:- Well it's time I chose one of the many Mercury written Queen tracks and it's from a time when I was a wide-eyed fifteen year old school boy growing up in that hot Silver Jubilee year when we felt we were surrounded by champions, including Freddie of course.

You see recently, I've had a couple of conversations with friends this week about very matter and I wonder if we'll ever get another Pink Floyd, Genesis, Senna, Schumacher or Borg. What heroes!!!

I mean what have we now got on the menu?

Coldplay, Hamilton and Murray... I can feel my eyelids closing as I write the names.

The 'Champion Era' has long gone IMO - only to be replaced by some bland substitute of an anaesthetised mediocrity of uninspiring inspirational people that's sadly fuelled by big money from the far east it would appear.

So just ignore it I say and get on with your own knitting as luckily, we can be our own 'Champions' and forget watching some other people chasing cash for fame or listen to churned out pop music trash that Freddie would certainly turn his nose up at.

We are the Champions only got to #2 in the charts btw in 1977 - in contrast we now have the ' wonderful' James Arthur, big f@cking deal...Listening to him is 'Committing a Crime and well worth a Sentence' if you ask me.

So crack out your vinyl and Keep on 'Fighting to the End' and remember 'You are the Champion, Today and Everyday'.
